Developed by university and industry representatives, the program’s objectives are to provide the background so that participants will be able to:
- Understand the software development process from planning and requirements analysis to testing and implementation
- Manage software projects including adhering to budgetary and time constraints and promoting effective communication
- Consider the role of architectural design in the system development life cycle of software.

Software Engineering Certificate Program Requirements
*Courses in Level Two may be substituted for the Level One certificate. However, the following must be taken to complete the Level Two Certificate: All Level One courses, Software Inspections and 44 hours of electives.
**Upon JACMET approval, up to 16 hours of related JACMET courses may be considered for the electives section of the Level Two certificate.
