Chief Engineer Case Study
Description
The case study is the capstone activity for the Chief Engineer Certificate. It provides a framework to integrate the topics and skills that have been developed in the certificate courses. Each participant, in conjunction with chief engineer mentors, selects a recent activity for review and analysis. As well as developing a description of events and outcomes, the study provides a systematic in-depth assessment of lessons learned. Selection and definition of the topic within the company precedes the first half-day class where the methods of analysis are reviewed and discussed for each case. There is a 4-week period for detailed case analysis before the second half-day class where the outcomes are reviewed. The study can be done individually or in a team of two. The classes are small to maximize individual contributions and to demonstrate the interactions with the personal outcomes from the courses in the certificate.
Note: Prior to the second half-day of class, participants should ensure that their presentations have received an export release from their company
