Making the Business Case
Description
- Have you ever seen a great idea killed by poor advocacy?
- Have you seen an average project enhanced by a good case?
- Have you ever realized its flaws only long after the decision is made?
- Have you ever had to re-prepare a poor case before you take it forward?
- Have you ever wished you could translate your great idea into a compelling business case?
This course is intended to help with the many everyday activities where a clear, simple and compelling case has to be made. Of course, the principles also apply to more important presentations where there is more at stake but even there, efficiency and incisiveness in preparation are a great asset. The course examines the good, the bad and the ugly of some published cases. Then the participants follow a simple template to prepare and deliver their own case examples which are then analyzed and scored. It is a very practical “how to” course that addresses an important skill for every technical leader.
Objectives
The objectives of this course are to demonstrate the features of an effective technical business case and to provide individual and group practice to develop and integrate the necessary skills.
